Location: 141 Sheridan Drive, Naugatuck, Connecticut
Work Hours: Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Job Status: Full-time Permanent Position
JOB DESCRIPTION: The position will be spending 50% of their time on cleaning and sanitation and 50% of their time on shipping and receiving on a regular basis. The position may need to flex over to production occasionally as needed. The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
CLEANING/SANITATION
Production Areas (Processing Area, Milling Room, Packing Room, Production Lab)
o Washing of all production floors and walls (daily or as needed)
o Cleaning of overhead ducts and area above washable walls (2x per year)
o Cleaning of Sanitation Mats
o Cleaning of warehouse floor and maintenance area
o Daily Sanitation (trash removal) in production and warehouse areas, and place in collection bin
o Monthly cleaning of spiral duct work in production area
Clean machine shops floor once per month
Warehouse
o Clean the floors (2x per month)
o Clean the racks (annually)
Pest Control
o Manage the pest control program
o Conduct weekly inspections of Tincat devices (interior and exterior) and bug lights (interior). Document findings and replace glue boards or lights as needed. Report nonconformances to QA Manager.
Cleaning reagents and chemical inventory
o Maintain inventory of cleaning reagents and order as needed
o Monitoring of bleach solution concentration (daily or as needed)
o Weekly monitoring of soap dispensers, hand sanitizers, paper goods and PPE (hair nets, beard nets, gloves). Work with office staff to reorder supplies.
SANITATION CHECKS
o Oversee the sanitation program of the facility acting as the Sanitation Supervisor.
o Perform weekly sanitation inspections and record findings on the sanitation checklist.
o Report any nonconformances to QA Manager.
SHIPPING & RECEIVING
· o Assist unloading shipping containers and loading outbound orders onto trucks.
· o Pick orders and build outbound pallets of customer orders.
· o Pick materials for production orders.
· o Checking orders, and other various shipping/receiving functions.
SESECONDARY FUNCTIONS
PRODUCTION
o Weigh and load ingredients into machines for production as per instructions on batch record
o Milling and packing of finished products.
o Metal detecting packed finished products.
o Preparing trays and cartons for packing.
o Set up and operate manufacturing equipment- blenders, granulators, mill, etc.
o Stage utensils for manufacturing
o Load products onto trays for drying
o Assist in milling products
PACKAGING AND LABELING
o Weigh and pack finished products
o Apply labels on packaged product containers
PROCEDURES
o Written standard operating procedures must be followed at all stages in manufacturing
o Follow proper hygiene and safety protocols as per written procedures
o Document cleaning on logs for all equipment
Other duties as assigned
*Note: Must be able to safely lift 60 lbs.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
High School degree is required. Associate’s and/or Trade Degree is a plus. A Car and valid Driver’s License Required. 1-3 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. This job requires someone who is self-motivated, able to perform work while standing for most of the day. This position requires someone who is highly reliable, punctual, organized, and possesses good written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Forklift Certification a plus.
