Work Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Analytical Lab Technician will be responsible for a variety of duties. The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
ANALYTICAL LAB:
- Perform assay by HPLC and titration test method for Raw material and Finished products
- Analyze data and create report
- Assist development and validation for new HPLC testing method using USP monograph
- Perform Heavy metal testing on product using ICP0OES
- Perform Loss on drying
- Perform %moisture (back up), Bulk density (back up), FTIR (Back up), Particle size (back up), microbial testing Using Biolumix apparatus (back up)
- Provide technical support to customers with QC/QA to investigate customer complaints
- Assist with calibration program and schedule necessary services for Microbial lab
- Perform ongoing real time stability on products
- Inbound samples (backup)
- Sample request (backup)
- Assist with Certificate of Analysis and check batch records (Back up)
- Other duties as assigned
Administrative duties: 10-15 hours per week.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Sample preparations
- Solution preparations (acids, basis, etc.)
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry (preferred), Pharmacy, Biology, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related science field; 1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Knowledge of GMP and QA/QC for the food industry is preferred. Knowledge of raw materials used in the nutraceutical and natural products chemistry is a plus. The candidate must have excellent math and computer skills (Excel and database programs). The candidate should be knowledgeable in the basic types of unit operations used in chemical industries. The candidate should also have working knowledge of the types of analytical methods used to characterize chemicals. Practical experience solving problems related to typical chemical processing operations is especially desirable. This position requires someone that is organized and has the ability to multi-task, handling multiple projects at any one time. The candidate must be self-confident, creative, resourceful, and capable of resolving technical challenges. The individual must be able to work independently and as part of a team. S/he should have good interpersonal and communication skills. Must be fluent in English.
